From the Conero to the lake of Pilato "the lake with glasses"
Located at 1,941 meters high, on Monte Vettore, in the Monti Sibillini National Park in the municipality of Montemonaco.
It is the only natural lake in the Marche region and one of the very few alpine glacial lakes in the Apennines.
A magical place that MUST be seen at least once in a lifetime.
A lake surrounded by nature that leaves a jewel that mother nature lets a few see.
Trekking for expert hikers E.E.
The lake hosts a particular endemism, the Chirocefalo of Marchesoni. Therefore it is strictly forbidden to bathe in the waters of the lake and it is necessary to maintain a distance of at least 5 meters from the edge to avoid stepping on the chirocephalus eggs laid on the shore.
